6. How we process personal information (POPIA)
- Purpose: running the game, keeping the site secure, funding it through advertising, and answering messages.
- People and information: website visitors (IP address, device and browser details, and advertising cookies and identifiers); players who create an account (email address, nickname, game results, group memberships and sign-in sessions; no names, photos, IP addresses or third-party account access); people who email us (name, email address, message); service providers (business contact and billing details).
- Recipients: Google (advertising and optional sign-in), Resend (sign-in emails), Cloudflare (site delivery, security and visit statistics), our hosting provider, our accountant, and authorities where the law requires.
- Cross-border transfers: Google, Cloudflare and Resend process information outside South Africa under their own data protection terms (POPIA section 72).
- Security: HTTPS, a firewalled and regularly patched server, key-only administrator access, and minimal collection. Game progress is stored on the visitor's own device, or, for players who sign in, in our database on the same server.
7. How to request a record
- Complete the prescribed request form (Form 2), available from the Information Regulator's website, and email it to [email protected].
- Give enough detail to identify the record, and say which right you're exercising or protecting.
- We'll respond within 30 days. Prescribed fees under the PAIA regulations may apply, and we'll tell you before charging any. You may request your own personal information free of charge.
We may refuse a request on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of Part 3 of PAIA. If you disagree with our decision, you may complain to the Information Regulator ([email protected]) or apply to court.
